Succulentae is a cactus and succulent grower based in the Almería desert, southern Spain. We are not a reseller or a curated shop: every plant in our catalogue is grown here, in full Mediterranean sun, before it reaches your door.

The location does the work.
El Ejido is one of the sunniest municipalities in Europe: more than 320 days of sun a year, winters that rarely fall below 5 °C, low humidity and arid soil. We do not try to replicate those conditions inside a greenhouse; we simply use them.
Our plants grow outdoors or in open structures, with no artificial climate control. The result is a hardened specimen with dense spines and true colouration, ready from day one for the continental or coastal climates found anywhere in Europe.
Mineral substrate. Minimal water. No shortcuts.
We use 100% mineral substrate — a mix of pumice, quartz sand and perlite, adjusted by species. No peat. No garden soil. Instant drainage is not optional for cacti and succulents: it is the basic requirement for healthy root function.
Watering follows the natural cycles of each genus. Many species go through the dry season without any artificial irrigation. That controlled stress compacts growth, reinforces the epidermis, and makes the specimen more resilient wherever it ends up — whether that is a windowsill in Berlin or a terrace in Lyon.
The plant in the photo is the one you receive.
We photograph each plant individually. No reference images, no catalogue shots, no display specimens. The product photo shows the exact available specimen: its spines, its shape, its real size.
When a product has multiple units in stock, we photograph representative batches and state this clearly. If there is variation, we say so. Our single standard: no surprises when you open the box.

Every order is prepared by hand. The plant travels in its dry mineral substrate — instant drainage means the root system is not stressed during transit. We secure each specimen with internal padding and box reinforcement so there is no movement inside the package.
We ship across Europe via Correos Express, with real-time tracking. If your plant arrives damaged, we replace it at no extra cost and with no complicated process. A photo of the condition on arrival is all we need.
