We grow what we sell.
Succulentae is a grower of cacti and succulents in the Almería desert. We are not middlemen or a resale shop: every plant you see in our catalogue grows here, under the sun of south-eastern Spain, before it reaches your door.
134 species in active cultivation. Shipped direct from the grower: to Spain, France, Germany and the rest of the EU.
The environment makes everything.
El Ejido is one of the sunniest municipalities in Europe: more than 320 days of sun a year, temperatures rarely below 5 °C in winter, low humidity and arid soil. We don't try to replicate those conditions in a greenhouse; we simply make the most of them.
Our plants grow outdoors or in open structures, without artificial climate control. The result is a hardened specimen, with dense spines and true colouring, adapted from day one to the continental or coastal climate of anywhere in Europe.
Mineral substrate. Minimal watering. No shortcuts.
We use 100% mineral substrate — a blend of pumice, quartz sand and perlite in proportions adjusted by species. No peat. No garden soil. Instant drainage is not optional for cacti and succulents: it is the basic requirement for the roots to work properly.
Watering follows the natural cycles of each genus. Many species go through the dry season without artificial watering. That controlled stress compacts growth, strengthens the skin and makes the specimen more resistant at its final destination, be it your windowsill in Berlin or your terrace in Lyon.
The specimen you see is the one you receive.
We photograph plant by plant. We don't use reference photos, catalogue images or display specimens. The product photo corresponds exactly to the specimen available: its spines, its shape, its real size.
When a product has multiple stock, we photograph representative batches and say so clearly. If there is variation, we tell you. Our criterion is a single one: no surprises when you open the box.

Packed by hand. Live-arrival guarantee.
Every order is prepared by hand. The plant travels in its dry mineral substrate — instant drainage prevents the root system from suffering during transit. We protect the specimen with internal support padding and box reinforcement so there is no movement.
We ship across the European Union with real-time tracking: Correos Express within Spain; Colissimo to France and DHL Paket to Germany and other EU destinations. We prepare shipments in grouped batches so plants spend as little time as possible in transit; you get the tracking as soon as yours leaves. If your plant arrives damaged, we replace it at no extra cost and with no complicated paperwork. A photo of its condition on arrival is enough.
Growers, not middlemen.
We have been growing cacti and succulents in Almería for years. We started as enthusiasts with our own collections; over time the accumulated knowledge, the available space and the trust of our first customers turned that hobby into a professional nursery.
There's no marketing agenda behind us. What matters to us is that the plant arrives in good condition, that it lasts for years in your space and that, if you have a genuine botanical question, you can write to us and get a specific answer. That's the deal.
134 species. Real availability, updated daily.
The catalogue reflects current stock. What's available is available; what isn't doesn't appear. No long waiting lists or uncertain production times.
